The redevelopment of 25-33 Macaulay Road, Clapham comprises of the demolition of existing industrial units and the construction of eleven separate blocks ranging from a five storey apartment block, 35,000 sqft of office space down to a single 1,500sqft dwelling.
The buildings are varied in construction with new build,
refurbishment and retained facade elements.
There are three large blocks one of which involves converting a
1930's 4 storey factory into a 5 storey apartment block with an
exposed basement to create additional duplex dwellings in this
space.
The main new build apartment block has a basement car park and is
constructed from insitu concrete frame and a lightweight steel roof
frame, internal finishes are of a high quality with Italian tiles
and kitchens throughout.
The location of the site presents many challenges, most notable are
the numerous party wall negotiations and the construction of the
buildings with only a single access from a residential street.
