Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College

Programmed to be built in 37 weeks on behalf of the Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College, Southall Campus Block E is a Vocational Education facility for 16 to 21 year olds.

The education building, comprising of 3 floors dedicated to workshops, a training kitchen, classroom space and offices, forms the final side of the College quadrangle linking into the existing college buildings at both ends and to the adjacent Sports Centre.

Built on pad foundations, the envelope is a striking mix of several treatments including brickwork, render and composite cladding, plus areas of curtain walling and overhead sectional doors to access the ground floor workshops.  All floors are served by a 16 person lift. Heating, ventilation, fire alarms and security systems were all integrated with the existing college systems.

All works were carried out within the existing live College and Sports Centre environment with careful consideration taken not to disrupt the students.
