McLaren Construction Limited were contracted to construct a 300,000 sq ft distribution unit with associated car parking and a spacious service yard within the Worksop area for the client Gazeley UK Ltd. 

Included within the warehouse there is a three storey office and amenity area which includes a reception area, toilet areas, extensive open plan office space and bolt on plant rooms. 

The construction of the unit consists of a steel portal frame enclosed with composite cladding panels to the roof and walls with 32 dock levelers to the south wall of the building.  The floor to the unit is a high tolerance concrete floor and as much natural lighting as possible has been provided with an extensive number of roof lights within the unit's roof. 

The client has a commitment to the environment so within the scope of the works there was a requirement for items such as wind turbines, PV panels, solar panels & grey water storage.  The environment issues were further advanced with a water attenuation system beneath the tarmac/block paved car-park to the north along with storage drainage beneath the large concrete covered service yard to the south.  The client's commitment to the environment was further reinforced with attention paid to high specification, eco- friendly, finishes to the office area. 

To complete the works we undertook road works to the site's two new entrances under the inspection of the local highways department.
