Blue Planet, Chatterley Valley is one of the world's leading logistics facilities and is a flagship development in conjunction with Advantage West Midlands.  The completed project provides circa 360,000 sq ft of industrial space together with 30,000 sq ft of new offices situated in a parkland environment. 

The scheme provides a carbon positive, BREEAM Outstanding rated development with innovative, sustainable design solutions that provide environmental benefits way in excess of current legislation.  

McLaren were engaged as preferred design and build contractor on this scheme at concept design stage, to work with the professional team to develop and construct integrated design solutions.  They include ETFE roof lights, kinetic plates, underfloor heating, bio-fuel plant, photovoltaic, and ground remediation solutions. 

The unique barrel shaped composite roofing design with sweeping canopies and exterior parkland provide a building that is sensitive to the surrounding area minimising noise and  light pollution.
