The new Topp Way Multi storey car park in Bolton provides 800 new car parking spaces over 4 levels. Built as part of the Bolton town centre redevelopment, the new facility was devised as part of the town centre master plan development.

The Car park is built on a heavily sloping site which necessitated the use of a split level design for the main decks.  Each deck and split level is served by passenger lifts, from a large ground floor lobby designed to accommodate future potential retail units. The lobby and main staircases have been designed to provide a high quality, robust level of finish in order to give the users a feel of safety and security.

The scheme was procured through a 2 stage tender process with the client, which saw McLaren develop the design process with the design team through to construction stage, and provided an efficient cost outturn for the client, by investigating the most efficient construction solutions at an early stage.
